Distance. The person gathering the information
should be a third party with no historical contact with
the employee. Ideally he/she is external to the organisation. |

The option of anonymity. Employees should
be provided with the option of providing their feedback
anonymously. It is essential that they have complete trust
that their anonymity will be protected. |

3.

Two tiered process. If employees complete
a written (or online) interview which is then interpreted
by an HR professional, this enables the exit interviewer
to probe into areas of interest, and elicit a fully candid
response. |
